    • Robotics & Mechatronics

    • Mathematics & Statistics

    • Electrical & Electronic Engineering

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

  • Possess good fundamental knowledge in AI, machine learning, data-driven problem-solving, and software development.

  • Have a keen interest in Applied AI and building AI applications for industries.

  • Previous research experience or a published paper or a blog is highly desirable but not mandatory.

  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement AI models with practical applications.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate research findings effectively.

Important Notes:

  • This internship is not affiliated with any university. However, if selected, IAAIR can provide the necessary documentation required by your university to facilitate credit recognition (if applicable) or internship approval. It is the applicant’s responsibility to communicate with their university and ensure that the internship aligns with their academic or professional requirements.

  • IAAIR does not provide visa sponsorships or visa related letters. Applicants must have the legal right to work or intern in their respective locations and are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all visa, immigration, and work authorization requirements.

Internship Details

  • Duration: 12 weeks

  • Commitment: Full-time

  • Internship Type: Unpaid, undertaken for educational and professional experience

  • Mode: Remote and on-site options available (On-site internships will be at IAAIR headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, USA)

Current Projects

Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI research projects, including:

  1. Factoring Emotional Intelligence in Audio-based Conversational AI

  2. Automatic Taxonomy Creation and Classification of Artifacts Using Images and Text

  3. Enterprise AI Adoption: Challenges, Opportunities, and Strategic Frameworks

Intern Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AI models, ensuring practical applications in industries.

  • Demonstrate their AI models, showcasing functionality and real-world impact.

  • Deliver a mid-term presentation (10 minutes) on research progress by week 6.

  • Deliver a final demonstration and presentation (15 minutes) at the end of week 12 to IAAIR researchers, industry collaborators, and fellow interns.

  • Submit a final research report detailing findings, methodologies, and implementation outcomes.

Expected AI Model Demonstrations

Interns must demonstrate that their AI models:

  • Address real-world challenges in sectors like healthcare, finance, robotics, cybersecurity, or automation.

  • Function in a simulated or real environment, with proof of concept or prototype implementation.

  • Are scalable, efficient, and interpretable, with potential for industry adoption.

  • Provide clear documentation, performance evaluation, and deployment insights.

Internship Completion & Certificate

Interns who successfully complete the program will receive an Internship Completion Certificate. The certificate will be issued only after:

  1. The final presentation has been delivered at the end of the internship.

  2. The final report has been submitted and reviewed by IAAIR.

Failure to complete these requirements will result in no certificate being issued.
